Introducing the new SU CSM College Officer
Hello! I’m Abenah Adelaide, your CSM Student Union Officer.
I’m a BA (Hons) Textile Design student, and I’m passionate about meeting new people and making positive changes to my environment. In the past, I’ve represented my country as one of five emerging designers at the International Fashion Showcase, parallel to London Fashion Week. I’ve also been hand selected as the youngest member of the Brand Jamaica Fashion & Design Group, which aims to revamp and rebuild a textile industry on the island. I have a creative background, and am also the daughter of one of Jamaica’s most respected fine artists, who was honoured an Order of Distinction by the Jamaican government for his positive contribution to fine art on the island.
I also aim to help make the world a better place. My work as the Central Saint Martin’s Student Union Officer will be influenced by student needs and opinions. I look forward to engaging with and representing all students, and acting as the lead voice for students regardless of their age, gender, religion, nationality or sexuality, so that your student experience may be enhanced. I also aim to create a space for networking, running campaigns, raising awareness and resolving any issues within the university. I value diversity and will remove barriers to equality, as I work towards the Student Union’s strategic vision.
I look forward to seeing you at my upcoming meet and greet on the 8th November! Thank you.
