Design Museum Talk – Industry Insights: Power, Protest & Participation
Wednesday 25th April, 3 – 5:30pm
Design Museum, 224-238 Kensington High St, Kensington, London W8 6AG
This Industry Insights event co-hosted by Central Saint Martins will explore some of the core themes emerging from the Design Museum’s exhibition Hope to Nope: Graphics & Politics 2008-2018, which has been co-curated by GraphicDesign& (GCD Programme Director Rebecca Wright & Lucienne Roberts).
How might graphic design be used to stabilise or dissent, provoke political action and empower communities? Can graphic design shape or even dictate politics? Are graphic designers effective activists?
Featuring talks and provocations from designers whose work is included in the exhibition and a special introduction from the show’s curatorial team, this event aims to open up new ways of thinking about and engaging graphic design as a tool for power, protest & participation.
This event is part of our Transmissions lecture series and podcast.
